GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR SPANISH COURSES

ENROLMENT
Course confirmation
In order to enrol on a course, please send us the completed enrolment form and deposit of 300 Euros. This deposit is non-refundable.
The Lewis School of Languages will send course confirmation within 24 hours (72 hours at weekends) of receipt of your enrolment form and deposit.
Before the start of the course The Lewis School will send students the following: student's guide with full details of the course and accommodation.
Applicants for the Junior Summer Course will also be sent an authorisation form which must be signed and dated by the parent or guardian of the student concerned and returned to The Lewis School by post before the student is due to begin the course. Students will not be accepted on to the Junior Summer Course unless The Lewis School of Languages has received the signed and dated authorisation form. The length of the Junior Summer Course is minimum two weeks.
The full course fee and accommodation must be paid no less than two weeks before the start of the course.
Late enrolment
Enrolments received 14 days or less before the start of the course will incur a late enrolment fee of 60 Euros.

HOW TO PAY
Payment

Course and accommodation fees must be paid in full no less than 2 weeks before the start of the course. The price is calculated in complete weeks and fractions will not be accepted.
Payment may be made:
1. By bank transfer. Your invoice will be credited with the actual amount received by our bank. Please note that The Lewis School of Languages is not responsible for payment of bank charges incurred.
2. By cheque in euros.
3. By credit card. We accept the following cards: Visa, Master Card, American Express.
4. In cash or traveler's cheques when payment is made in the school reception.
Refunds
Refunds will not be made for the following:
1. Meals missed due to participation in the school activity programme (It is not possible to have meals specially prepared for these occasions.)*
2. Late arrival, absence or early departure from a course.
3. Public holidays.
* This condition is not applicable to the Junior Summer Course.Unless otherwise specified, the price of the course does not include medical or accident insurance, transport or airport/station transfers.

Cancellation
If a course is cancelled 3 weeks or more before it is due to start, the full course and accommodation fee will be refunded minus the deposit of 300 Euros. Where cancellations are made 3 weeks or less before the course is due to start, the cancellation fee will be equivalent to one week's course and accommodation fees plus the deposit of 300 Euros. No refund will be made for courses cancelled after the start date. The deposit of 300 Euros is non-refundable in all cases of cancellation.

The Junior Summer Course and International Summer Camp in the Pyrenees are subject to their own specific conditions to which these General Conditions will be applied in default.

  GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR SPANISH COURSES
Transfer service

Unless otherwise specified transfer services include one service only. The Junior Summer Course includes return transfers.
The Lewis School of Languages will not be held responsible for students who have given wrong or unclear flight or transport details.
Accommodation: Any request for a change in accommodation for whatever reason must be made to The Lewis School of Languages no less than two weeks before the date of the proposed change. Otherwise, the accommodation costs will be charged to the student in full. Accommodation costs will have to be paid in the case of absence during the course or late arrival or early departure from the course.
NOTE: The Lewis School of Languages acts exclusively as the agent for host family, shared apartment, youth hostel, hotel or student hall of residence accommodation.
Responsibility and insurance
The Lewis School of Languages and its employees will not be held responsible for losses, damages or injuries caused to people or property. It is the student's own responsibility to take out personal insurance for whatever risk, including the inability to attend the course and medical insurance.

SCHOOL RULES
Students are subject to the school rules.
The school reception is open 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 - 8 p.m. Monday - Friday and on Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Class timetables are available between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Monday to Friday and on Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Important information
Punctuality and regular attendance are essential to the progress of the group as a whole and students are requested to attend classes regularly and to arrive punctually. Students who are unable to attend a class should notify the school.
1 class hour = 50 minutes.
Classes missed by students for any reason cannot be recuperated.
If a group size drops to below 4 students, The Lewis School of Languages reserves the right to cancel the group or join 2 groups of a similar level.
Minors
When The Lewis School of Languages accepts the enrolment for a student under the age of 18, the parent or guardian who enrols them accepts full responsibility for their conduct, security and well-being.
If a minor is unable to attend a class for any reason, his/her parent/guardian, not the minor, should notify the school.The Lewis School of Languages reserves the right to expel a student if his/her behaviour is preventing his/her peers from learning. This measure will be taken only as a last resort and after making every effort to integrate the student into the class.

Data Protection Act
In compliance with the Organic Law 15/1999, 13th December (la Ley Orgánica 15/1999, de 13 de diciembre) for the protection of the right to privacy, your personal details will be registered in a data base owned and used exclusively by The Lewis School of Languages, S.L. for both internal and commercial purposes. Acceptance of these conditions implies your consent for said uses. The Lewis School of Languages, S.L. guarantees that this information will in no case be shared with sold, or rented to third parties. Students and clients wishing to opt out or alter their personal details may do so in writing to email address info@lewis-school.com.

VALIDITY OF THE CONDITIONS: These conditions come into effect as of 1st January 2004.
